Every garment is assigned to a specific bin based on client, product type, and available space. No pile of clean stock on an unmarked shelf. No guessing where someone left it.
Auto-putaway
The system tells the operator where to put it.
When clean stock arrives from the wash hall, the system suggests the optimal bin. The suggestion is based on client, product type, and available capacity — keeping the same client's garments together and balancing bin occupancy across the warehouse.
The operator scans the garment, sees the suggested bin on screen, walks to the bin, and scans the bin label to confirm. Two scans, one putaway, zero ambiguity.
Pick path
Optimised route through the warehouse.
When a dispatch order is created, the system generates a pick list sorted by physical location. Operators follow the optimised route through the aisles — no backtracking, no missed items, reduced walking time.
Each pick is confirmed by scanning the garment at the bin. If the wrong garment is scanned, the system rejects it immediately. The pick list tracks progress live so supervisors can see which orders are complete.
Bin labels
Printed labels for every bin.
Every bin gets a printed label with a barcode, human-readable location code, and client name. Labels print automatically to thermal printers on the warehouse floor.
Scan-to-confirm at both putaway and pick. The operator scans the garment, then scans the bin label. If the bin does not match the instruction, the system flags the mismatch before the garment is placed.
Zone occupancy
Live overview of warehouse capacity.
The zone occupancy view shows which areas of the warehouse are full and which have capacity. Colour-coded by fill level — green for available space, amber for nearing capacity, red for full.
Supervisors use the overview to rebalance stock across zones, identify bottlenecks before they cause delays, and plan capacity for incoming work.

What is auto-putaway and how does it work?
Auto-putaway reads the garment type, size, and client from the scan at Goods In, then looks up the preferred bin location in the storage rules. The operator is shown the suggested bin on Vorrex Terminal. If the bin is full, the system falls back to the next available bin in the same zone.
How does visual pick path work in Vorrex?
When a pick list is generated, Vorrex sequences the bin locations to minimise the walking distance through the warehouse. Vorrex Terminal displays the pick path step by step, showing the aisle, shelf, and bin for each item. Operators scan each garment to confirm the pick before moving to the next location.
Can Vorrex track real-time zone occupancy?
Yes. Zone occupancy is tracked in real time as garments are scanned in and out of storage locations. The Vorrex Manager dashboard shows current occupancy percentages per zone. Capacity alerts trigger when a zone exceeds the configured threshold.
